We did the touristy thing and went for a guided punt along the river. It actually turned into a beautiful and sunny winter's day so it was really enjoyable. The guide also gave us all the rundown on the different colleges, the history and so forth. And of course a bit of friendly banter about how Cambridge was better than Oxford!

After our punt, we continued the walk through the city and then out to the fields and outskirts. Cambridge has so much history in all the buildings and they are all so wonderfully preserved that it was such a joy to be among them. Thanks to my friend Shazia for organising a lovely day out!
